Backyard Habitat

For this project we turned a large, relatively sparse garden into a welcoming backyard habitat. Our clients, avid bird lovers, wanted to encourage more species to come and visit.

We worked on creating a garden habitat that would have four-season interest and take advantage of as much native plant material as possible. By using native plants we encouraged birds, insects and wildlife that are able to use the food that these plants provide. Shrubs like viburnum provide berries for the birds but also beautiful fall color, dogwoods add winter interest while a variety of ornamental grasses give movement to the garden.
